We went to see "When all the slaves are free," Saturday night, at the "Great Canadian Theatre company" GCTC
It wasn't a play. There was nothing spoken at all all evening. It wasn't a musical, again there was nothing spoken. There was no real storyline. What it was was a series of Joni Mitchell songs, sung in succession by three women who played "tag-team singing," occasionally teaming up together to do a trio. It was quite effective in envoking a story against a backdrop of a bar somewhere somewhen. But by the end of the evening I did begin to wonder if Joni Mitchell was an alcoholic. Wonderful theatre though. We liked it.
